Teaching with Heart: Honouring the people shaping young lives

There is something deeply beautiful about a teacher who shows up, not just for the lesson on the board, but for the child sitting in front of them. At Agape Star (ASCS), our teachers do exactly that, every single day. As we begin Term two 2026, we want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible people behind the classrooms, the teachers and staff who carry both a curriculum and a calling.

A new Term, a fresh start

Term 2 opened on 25 May 2026, and there was a real sense of purpose in the air. All teachers reported back, ready to serve. One of our beloved staff, Teacher Evelyn, recently welcomed a new baby on 23 May. We are overjoyed for her and her family, and she is currently on a well-deserved four-week maternity leave. We look forward to welcoming her back in early July.

Before lessons began, our leadership team gathered all teaching and non-teaching staff for a term-opening meeting, a time to align, encourage one another, and set the tone for the weeks ahead. It was a successful and spirit-filled session.

How our Team works

Each teacher at ASCS carries responsibility for not just their classroom, but for a specific area of school life. Whether it is academic progress, student wellbeing, co-curricular activities, or spiritual formation, our team members own these areas with both professionalism and heart.

We follow the Ugandan National Education Curriculum while also gradually drawing from international education standards to give our students the richest possible learning experience. Our teachers bring these two worlds together every day, and the results are evident in how our students grow, engage, and begin to dream.

Calling, Faith and Service

Teaching at a school like ASCS is more than a job. It is a calling. Our staff choose to be here, in this community, with these children, because they believe in the vision. They understand that a well-taught child is a changed life, and a changed life can transform a community. Weekly staff devotions keep our team anchored in faith and connected to the calling behind their work. It is this foundation that makes our school not just a place of learning, but a place of love.

Why supporting our Educators matters

When you give to ASCS, you are not just building classrooms or buying school supplies, you are investing in the people who breathe life into those classrooms every morning. A supported teacher is an effective teacher. A stable, valued educator shows up with energy, creativity, and compassion. Your partnership makes it possible for us to resource our staff, invest in their development, and honour their service. That is a gift that multiplies in the lives of every child they teach.

For we are co-workers in God’s service.” – 1 Corinthians 3:9

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in our teachers. Thank you for making this work possible.

With gratitude and joy,

The ASCS/BLCDF Team
