Learning

Nursery Curriculum

ASCS nursery section has three classes: baby class, middle class, and top class. The children get a wide range of learning experiences, and we strive to develop each learner’s social, spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional and physical development.

Each class has a qualified nursery teacher who is well-equipped with methods of early childhood education and care. This loving and ready-to-serve team is responsible for our young learners at school.

ASCS has developed a unique nursery curriculum, which combines ideas, materials, and methods from teachers and external facilitators. This curriculum has enabled the provision and maintenance of quality education for the students. Upon successful completion of the nursery curriculum, pupils graduate to Primary One.

The spacious classrooms are designed to help children make significant developmental gains, communicate more successfully and work well personally and with other learners.

Primary Curriculum

ASCS follows the Uganda Primary School Thematic Curriculum, supplemented with Christian principles to foster spiritual development. The Primary Curriculum (for children in Primary One to Primary Five), is designed to:

  • Develop confidence and esteem in the pupils.
  • Stimulate exploitation of our pupils’ talents and impart good values.
  • Stimulates language development, thinking and motor skills.
  • Develop social skills.
  • Develop a positive attitude towards learning and work.
  • Encourage experimentation and exploration skills.

A curriculum package/resource is provided every holiday (both for nursery and primary students) to continue the learning process in and outside the school.

Incorporating Physical Education (PE) into the school curriculum is essential for children’s holistic development and sets them up for a healthy, active, and successful life. PE contributes to children’s overall physical, mental and emotional well-being. It also builds self-esteem and confidence, reduces stress hormones and improves mental well-being.

ASCS has a house sports system. The houses are called Ebenezer, Eber, Bethel and Bethlehem.

Spiritual Development

At Agape Star Christian School, our strong Christian foundation is the guiding force in nurturing spiritual growth and character development, fostering unity among the diverse student body and the students activating a Godly call to serve among the nations.

Recognising the importance of individual spiritual journeys, we provide a supportive and inclusive environment that welcomes pupils from different Christian denominations. We celebrate and respect the diversity of Christian practices within our school community, fostering an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance and mutual respect.

The school’s commitment to its Christian foundation is exemplified through various practices and opportunities for pupils and staff to explore and deepen their faith, such as classroom prayers, devotional assemblies and specialised Monday morning devotions for teachers.

Further, students have a class called ‘4P’ as part of their curriculum. This class teaches, encourages, and imparts to the children how to pray, praise, prophecy and preach (the 4Ps).

Teach them from my Word how to activate and move in the 4Ps.
There is an anointing that is on the children that will be activated
as they take these regular classes.

Nations will be affected, impacted, and quickened in the outpouring of God as a result of the
children (boys and girls) praying, praising, prophesying, and preaching.
Raise them up, raise them up, raise them up.

ASCS Prayer Wall

The children of Agape Star Christian School love to pray!

Their gift of thanks and appreciation to family, friends, allies, supporters and donors around the world is that they will pray for them.

With this in mind, we would love you to post what we can pray for you!

Email your prayer to barnabaslegacy@gmail.com with PRAYER REQUEST in the subject heading.

The children will then write out the prayer request on a piece of card and peg it to the prayer wall in their classrooms!

The children look forward to receiving your prayer requests!

ASCS Prophetic Word // May 2022

“Sons and daughters will arise out of this place.
Sons and daughters that will impact nations.
Sons and daughters that will declare my word over the nations as Jeremiah did in his days.

Sons and daughters that will carry a revival and a reformation anointing.
Sons and daughters that will usher in the harvest fields.
Sons and daughters that will preach my word and see souls saved, miracles happen
and the dead raised to life.

Sons and daughters compelled by my love to serve and minister to
a hurting and broken world with my love.
Sons and daughters that will have the healing balm of Gilead flowing in and through them
will lay hands on the sick, and they will be healed.
Sons and daughters in this hour and for this hour”.
