A Month of Growth and New Beginnings
September 2025 has been a month of remarkable growth, and exciting developments at Barnabas Legacy Children’s Dream Foundation. As we reflect on the incredible journey that has unfolded over these past weeks, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the amazing work God continues to do through Agape Star Christian School and our broader community programs including through the Arise Women in Business Projects.
Term 3: A Strong Foundation for Success
The month began with purposeful preparation as our dedicated team gathered on September 13th for our Term 3 beginning meeting. This crucial planning session brought together our teaching staff and leadership to strategically prepare for what we knew would be a pivotal promotional term for our students.
When Term 3 officially launched on September 15th, 2025, the response was nothing short of extraordinary. Our first week painted a beautiful picture of children hungry for quality Christian education:
- Day 1: 58 children walked through to school with excitement and anticipation
- Day 2: Our numbers soared to 162 students
- Day 3: We welcomed 166 eager learners, our highest single-day attendance
- Day 4: 148 students continued their educational journey with us
- Day 5: The week concluded with 157 students, solidifying our strong start
Immediate Action for Academic Excellence
Understanding the critical importance of this promotional term, our teachers wasted no time in resuming classes immediately. Every day counts when it comes to preparing our students for their next academic level, and our commitment to excellence drove us to maximize every learning opportunity from day one.
Community Partnership in Action
Friday of our first week brought together our parents committee and school leadership for our Parents Committee meeting. This vital gathering strengthened the partnership between home and school, ensuring that every child receives consistent support both in the classroom and at home. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by our parent community continues to inspire us.
Arise Women Program: Empowerment in Motion
Our commitment to community development extends beyond the classroom through our Arise Women program. This month, we successfully transferred charcoal ovens and sewing machines from the school back to our field office, ensuring these tools of empowerment reach the women who need them most.
We’re particularly grateful to share that Olivia, Teddy, and Suzan have expressed deep appreciation for the sewing materials provided. Their gratitude reflects the transformative impact of skills-based empowerment programs that create sustainable livelihoods for women in our community.
Exciting Developments on the Horizon
As we look toward the final week of September, anticipation builds for several major developments:
New Kitchen Construction
The last week of September will mark the beginning of our new kitchen construction project. Foundation preparation is set to commence, bringing us one step closer to providing improved meal services for our students. This development represents not just better nutrition for our children, but also enhanced learning environments and community gathering spaces. Thank you Mama Sue and Papa Mike for your contribution towards this!
Boarding Facility Improvements
We’re also excited about the expected arrival of beds and mattresses for our boarding children. These essential items will significantly improve the living conditions for our 15 boarders, ensuring they have comfortable, dignified spaces to rest and recharge for their academic pursuits.
A Testament to Community Support
The incredible growth we’ve witnessed this month – from 58 students on day one to consistently high attendance throughout the week – reflects the tireless dedication of our teachers, the support of our parents, and the generosity of our donors who make it all possible.
As we continue through Term 3, we carry with us the momentum of these beautiful beginnings. Every child who walks through our doors represents not just an individual dream, but a community’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders, innovators, and faithful servants of God.
Looking forward with Faith
The developments ahead – from kitchen construction to improved boarding facilities – are not just building projects but investments in the future of our children and community. They represent the tangible manifestation of dreams becoming reality through partnership, faith, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Thank you to everyone who has made September 2025 a month of incredible growth and progress. Your support continues to transform lives, one child at a time, and one family at a time, one community at a time.
Together, we’re building more than a school – we’re nurturing tomorrow’s Christian leaders and change-makers.
